INCENSE, AN HISTORICAL INGREDIENT
• Incense has a millennial-old history and is one of the oldest aromatic substances used by humanity. Its origins date back to the earliest civilizations, where it was used in sacred rites, myths, and religions worldwide, always maintaining a deep connection with the divine and spirituality.
• Since all civilizations considered the sky as the abode of the divine, through the art of fumigation, incense was burned, and its smoke rose to the sky to reach and honor the gods.
• Incense has a foundational connection with perfume. The word "perfume" derives from the Latin "per-fumum," which means "through smoke," a term that referred to the aromas that spread in the air by burning resins, herbs, spices, and woods.
• In ancient Egypt, incense was burned in temples to honor the gods and accompany prayers. The Romansalso honored the gods with incense, and in aristocratic homes, it was burned to perfume the environment and demonstrate wealth. In Eastern cultures, incense use appears in religious and philosophical practices, as well as in Christianity and Islam, used during prayer rites to purify and elevate spirituality.

A perfume that embodies elegance, mystery, and intensity, for a profound sensory experience.
“ENCENS SACRÉ is the result of a study on one of the foundational raw materials in the history of perfumery: incense. This exceptional ingredient is presented here in two olfactive profiles, one obtained through distillation and the other through pyrolysis. I wanted to highlight the deepest, most intimate and sacred aspects of this legendary ingredient.” - Gian Luca Perris
ENCENS SACRÉ is the search for a sublime balance between two kinds of incense: the essence extracted from the distillation gum, with a sweet, mineral, balsamic note, and the essence obtained through pyrolysis, that gives the real impression of the burning incense, in homage to the art of fumigation.
Supporting this duality is a floral heart of Moroccan Rose and Jasmine, and an enveloping base sustained by Amber, Patchouli, and Sandalwood.
A complex, intimate, mystical, meditative perfume.
