Attars have always been a staple of the House, previously only available in Oman. Today, Amouage is reintroducing the world to the oldest form of perfume known to mankind, as it continues to push the boundaries of perfumery under the creative direction of Renaud Salmon.   

An homage to the beauty, nobility and wealth of the empires that gave perfume its first golden age, Amouage has released a luxurious collection of Attars that reunite two schools of fragrance, the technical with the olfactive, to give birth to a new generation of perfume. The sublime and modern pure fragrant oils draw inspiration from the Sultanate of Oman – its rich traditions, rare natural treasures and inherent passion for fine fragrance. 

Using the dabber, gently apply a drop of Attar on your pulse point in a swift smear. Very gently, dab your wrists together so as to wake the Attar up. You may also apply a single drop of Attar to the tip of your finger, then dab your pulse points, without rubbing them. Should you have any Attar left on your finger, you may run your hand through your beard or your hair. Always apply your Attar on your skin.

An ancient capital of Oman, Sohar has also been credited as the mythical birthplace of Sinbad the Sailor. Sohar was one of the richest ports of the Persian Gulf. Flourishing, populous, beautiful, pleasant and delightful. Aloes, wood, bamboo, sandalwood and spices were brought from India and frankincense from Dhofar.

Powdery-green sweeps of Basil-Rose meet the spicy vermillion of Clove bark all dimmed in the mellow, gourmand sheen of Sandalwood. The golden aura of a thousand celestial lights glimmering over the ancient harbour of Sohar whence spices and sandal used to flow.
