Substances, shapes and colors
”An intriguing fragrance weaves the sand fabric under the wanderer’s feet, in this forest, now forever petrified.”
Here a deliberate assumed choice. Miles Wambaugh creates once more an olfactory and pictural illusion and applies his art to a substance with a strong personality that is often misrepresented: The wood of the oud.
However, when he thinks of oud, he thinks about its substance, forms and colors. A wood which from the start beguiles whoever smells it, it only comes through under different opposing facets: animal, leathery, floral, fruity... To incarnate it, woody notes of gaïac, earthy dry notes of patchouli, and notes of amber which make up this powerful, multi-facetted sensation... of oud. To have it radiate and be agreeable, this completely imaginary oud is tinged with fresh and aromatic notes conveyed by cardamom and bergamot, lightly
spiced with coriander.
Mystery of images, intrigue of the emotions.
