The Lubin perfume house was established in 1798 and was a supplier to nearly all European courts. In 2005, after more than twenty years of inactivity, the brand was revived by Gilles Thévenin. His first creation was the Idole de Lubin eau de toilette. He collaborated with some of the most talented designers: Olivia Giacobetti composed a spicy-woody fragrance with an intriguing smoky note of burnt wood and rum, while Serge Mansau designed the bottle, reminiscent of the sail of a felucca, topped with the mask of an African sorcerer.
In 2011, this iconic composition, one of the bestsellers at Perfumeria Quality, was reinterpreted. The new version, also crafted by Olivia Giacobetti, gave Idole de Lubin eau de parfum a slightly warmer and darker character. It stays closer to the skin but lasts longer than the eau de toilette. The black bottle with an amber cap evokes the Art Deco style.
