With BERBERA fragrance, Nissaba showcases the Horn of Africa through its iconic ingredients: incense, myrrh and opoponax gums.
Berbera is Somaliland's main port, linking the Somali desert to the outside world. It's a place filled with two primary colors: the deep blue of the ocean and the sandy tones of the incessant winds and storms that blow across the country. The entire harvest of these gums ends up in the port city of Berbera, from where they leave for extraction, then finally reach the laboratories of the great perfumery houses, in Paris, Grasse or New York.
Heart notes: leathery, powdery incense enhances warm myrrh
Incense from Somaliland : The same grade of incense has been used, but extracted in three different ways, blended to offer a continuous, vertical narrative flow, and a long-lasting fragrance: superfluid extract (C02), molecular distillation, Vulcan extract.
Other gums-resins from Somalia: superfluid extracts of myrrh and opoponax.
Other key ingredients : Elemi essential oil, black pepper essential oil, pink pepper superfluid extract, nutmeg essential oil, Iris extracts, musks, amber woods and ambrox.
