The brand Isabey has a tradition dating back to 1924 when it was known as Société Parisienne d’Essences Rares & de Parfums. At that time, there was an exclusive shop on rue de la Paix in Paris named Isabey, in honor of the painter Jean Baptiste Isabey (1767 - 1855). It was the birthplace of various perfumery masterpieces such as Le Lys Noir, L’Ambre de Carthage, La Route d’Emeraude, and Le Chypre Celtic. The exquisite bottles were designed by Julien Viard. In 1925, the brand was awarded a gold medal at the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts.

The perfumes proved to be a commercial success. In the United States, they were recognized as a symbol of refinement and luxury. Each fragrance was available in a limited edition, adorned with precious stones. The challenges brought by World War II forced the brand's owners to cease operations.

Today, connoisseurs of perfumery art can enjoy the restored Gardenia Isabey scent from 1924, described as sophisticated, refined, and elegant. It is composed of natural essences like ylang-ylang, jasmine, rose absolute, iris, and of course, gardenia, enriched with Indian sandalwood. The golden bottle in a beautiful box pays homage to its famous predecessor.
